Minnesota band Pert Near Sandstone knows how to bring live music to life like no other. The live reputation of these veteran musicians is one to cherish. Recently, the band released their ninth album “Side by Side” and it is once again an excellent calling card with roots, Americana and rock being carried by gorgeous harmonies.
Pert Near Sandstone was founded in 2004 by front man Ryan Young and the band have released nine albums so far. All-round musician Young toured the world as a violinist for seven years with blue grass heroes Trampled By Turtles. Together with his friends, he started a band of his own that’s based on friendship and harmony.
With compelling energy and a clear passion for playing, the strong songwriter talent of Per Near blends very well with old-time sensibilities in a unique kind of modern string band setting, which they take to audiences all over the world.
