Rum Jungle is an Australian indie/alt-pop/rock band from Newcastle, New South Wales. The combine surf rock, psychedelic guitars, relaxed grooves and pop melodies to create songs that are both introspective and accessible.
The band consists of Benny McIntyre (vocals and guitar), Josh Giles (guitar), Michael Kolmajer (bass) and Frazer McDonald (drums). They released multiple EPs – like “Crazy Days”, “Sum & Smoke”, “Everything Is Easy” and “Hold Me in the Water” – before their debut album “Recency Bias” came out in February 2025. Recommended to fans of Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale or Sticky Fingers.
