SONS consists of four greasy, rude lads from Melsele, Belgium that throw fuzzy guitars, loud bass and even louder drums in the mix. They have played tons of live shows and it shows.
With “Sweet Boy”, sons released a “coming of age” record, to use their own words. It was a balancing act of a band that threw themselves in rock ‘n roll chaos head-first and now have to deal with getting older while cherishing their wild hopes and dreams of the shabby life in and for music.
From skating and street grinding to experimenting with riffs and drum patterns for hours: it was almost a formality that Arno, Jens, Robin and Thomas got together in their mid-twenties to make music. With a shared love for heavy psychedelic guitar music, they founded the band SONS: screeching, brawling and jamming like a typical psychedelic garage punk band, with a healthy dose of Black Sabbath thrown in for good measure. After selling out Merleyn a few years ago, they bring their unbridled passion back to Nijmegen to rock the Purple hall of Doornroosje.
