English singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor broke through in 2000 with the best dance track of that year: ‘Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)’, a collaboration with DJ Spiller. She also had big hits with ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ (2002), ‘Get Over You’ (2002) and ‘Not Giving Up on You’ (2010, with Armin van Buuren). With a catchy mix of pop, disco and eighties electronics, she won the hearts of many music and dance lovers.
Fast forward to today, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor has released her seventh studio album “Hana” in 2023, with warm, poppy dance songs like ‘Breaking the Circle’ and ‘Reflections’. It is also her most kaleidoscopic record to date. She once again confirms that she is a hard-working creator of world-class.
She has been keeping herself busy outside of music as well. Next to her hit series “Kitchen Disco Parties”, which she ran through Instagram during the Pandemic, she also released two compilations and her first book. She is also the host of a weekly radio show on BBC2 and she is already on her eighth season of her podcast. She also published a cook book on top of that, a collaboration with her husband – and bassist of the band The Feeling – Richard Jones.
