Squid
Squid is one of the coolest and most innovative bands that came out of England in recent years. Their live shows quickly drew the attention of press and audience alike, charmed by their unique sound somewhere in between post-punk and kraut rock with a whiff of electronic and psychedelic elements.
From the first album on, the very successful “Bright Green Field”, Squid have ignored all conventions. The quintet from Brighton was founded when its members were studying at Brighton University and consists of Ollie Judge (vocals, drums), Louis Borlase (vocals, guitar), Anton Pearson (guitar), Laurie Nankivell (bass) and Arthur Leadbetter (keys). Their artistic and innovative music hits hard and will appeal to fans of bands as varied as Black Midi, IDLES, LCD Soundsystem, Radiohead and Talking Heads. Their second album “O Monolith” is full of melodies and layered sounds, even more intense than the debut. After an impressive performance at Zeitgeist in 2022, Squid is coming back to Doornroosje with their brand-new album “Cowards”!
