The Vonks + MYL

The Vonks is a six-piece funk and groove fusion band from Arnhem and Nijmegen who demonstrate that funk is still alive and kicking. With their “groove first” mentality, the band manages to turn any crowd into a dancing mass, driven by a tight rhythm section and screeching brass. Led by energetic front man and trumpetist Gilles Vink, The Vonks offer a powerful mix of vintage funk and modern groove, inspired by legends like Lettuce, Tower of Power, The RH Factor and The Headhunters.

In May 2025, their long-awaited debut album “Departure” came out. With this release, and with prior performances at Jazz in Duketown, Breda Jazz and a sold-out release show in Luxor Live, The Vonks have proven to be ready to conquer the Dutch groove scene and beyond. The Vonks consist of Cleavon Lampe (guitar), Sem Willemsen (drums), Norman Samuels (bass), Joep Vlaar (keys), Liesbeth Coopmans (alto saxphone) and Gilles Vink (trumpet).

Myl is a six-piece band from Rotterdam that takes the audience along for a ride with their energetic fusion of jazz, hip hop, house and afrobeat. This combination of genres results in a fresh and engaging sound that is both familiar and surprising, with loads of catchy melodies and strong solos. Myl’s live shows are a blast, inviting the crowd to let go, dance and just enjoy. It is like you are crashing the instrumental afterparty of Ezra Collective and Mac Miller.
