British post-punk act TV Priest has released their new album “My Other People” on 17 June 2022. Before the pandemic they played only one show; their debut album “Uppers” came out in the middle of the crisis. Their new album is its successor, and according to front man Charlie Drinkwater it’s going to be a more “open” batch of songs, both musically and thematically. It’s not just about provocation, anger and aggression anymore, but also about love, loss and happiness.
It’s a record about personal disintegration and destruction, but also about rebuilding afterwards. To stay within the words of TV Priest: “A muddy field viewed from a train window between cities, a patch of wild flowers growing next to a motorway, sticky carpets in a suburban flat roof pub, pissing rain on an August bank holiday and the smell of diesel in an out-of-town supermarket car park. An angry, hopeful, shitty, beautiful island.”
