Punk, rock and psychedelia. Wine Lips from Canada brings these three styles together to an extremely energetic and catchy whole. Fuzzed-out garage rock that feels like a sugar overdose and an adrenalin boost, a cocktail of sounds that makes it impossible not to move. After their sold-out show in Merleyn, the band is back in Nijmegen with a brand-new album. This time, they will perform in Doornroosje.
At one point, three of its future members were house mates who each had bands of their own. In 2017 they came together to start an ‘easy punk band’. The band members quickly wrote tons of ramshackle garage rock songs in an almost effortless fashion. After the success album “Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party”, they are now back with “Super Mega Ultra”. The title fits the sound of the band perfectly. It’s a psychedelic trip oozing with emotion and raw energy. The mix of psychedelia, acid rock, fuzzy garage rock, and sixties surf is very much in your face. Just listen to songs like ‘Eyes’ and ‘Derailer’. The Toronto band is highly recommended to fans of bands like Osees, Ty Segall, Frankie & The Witch Fingers and The Reatards.
