Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band

After two sold out shows in Merleyn and a party at Kids ‘n’ Billies, The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is coming back to Nijmegen for a show in Doornroosje.

The American trio is capable of creating quite a ruckus with just guitar, washboard and a tiny drum kit. Their sound consists of a mix of country blues and acoustic punk rock avant-la-lettre: raw, exciting and swinging. The band consists of Reverend Peyton, his wife Breezy Peyton and brother Jayme Peyton. Reverend Peyton is one of the best ‘fine picking’ guitarists currently around. He was inspired by his idols: T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour and David “Honeyboy” Edwards.

Since 2006 the band has been touring practically non-stop and plays pretty much everywhere: whether it’s an old blues café or as support act to Irish band Flogging Molly. The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band debuted in 2004 with the album “The Pork ‘n’ Beans Collection” and recently released “Poor Until Payday”.
