Australian band Cash Savage and the Last Drinks released their international debut album “One of Us” last year. Front woman Cash, violinist Kat Mear and their merry men offer a mesmerizing mix of folk, dark blues, melancholic punk and dark country, using influences from both rock and gothic. Guitars, a heavy rhythm section and the violins are the most prominent weapons in their eccentric arsenal.
Its members found inspiration in the works of Aussie bands like The Scientists and The Triffids. Cash also happens to be a niece of the late Conway Savage (keyboardist of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds). Recommended to fans of The Gun Club, O’Death, Dirty Three, Nick Cave, Siouxsie & The Banshees and 16 Horsepower.
