Half Moon Run
Canadian band Half Moon Run’s sound had already been fully formed since their warm and vulnerable debut “Dark Eyes” came out in 2012. The band makes beautiful, dark indie rock and folk, led by the eccentric voice of front man Devon Portielje.
Playing as support to Mumford & Sons in the Ziggodome and performing at festivals like Into The Great Wide Open, Lowlands and Down the Rabbit Hole, the band managed to win a lot of fans with their charming mix of folk, psychedelia, and electropop. After a few years of introspection, the album ‘A Blemish in the Great Light’ came out in 2019. This is an album full of hard-hitting tracks that are more light-hearted and poetic than on its two predecessors, yet still clearly sound like Half Moon Run.
The most recent single ‘Fatal Line’ has been taken from a collaborative album with a number of Canadian artists. The album, “1969”, is a homage to the inspirational music of the late sixties and came out in April 2022.
