Dallas musician Joshua Ray Walker released his debut album “Wish You Were Here” in 2019. This newcomer immediately made a splash with this terrific country album with lyrics that deal with poverty, setbacks and everyday worries. Joshua has lived that life himself and has managed to translate his experiences to pure country songs in a very personal, honest manner.
In 2020 he released “Glad You Made It”, followed by the closing chapter of a trilogy, “See You Next Time”, in 2021. All three albums are modern country records of the highest quality. Walker started playing guitar and banjo at a very early age. Through the ‘honky tonk scene’ in Dallas, which allows musicians to share their talents in small bars, he managed to slowly make his way up and work on a fan base. Befriended musicians like Colter Wall, American Aquarium and Vandoliers invited him along on tours and ever since his debut album came out, he has started to strike out on his own. This is his first time in the Netherlands, playing a show in Merleyn tonight.
Joshua Ray Walker had been announced before to play a show here, but the Pandemic kept that from happening. He can finally strike out on his first European tour now though, with Merleyn being one of his stops.
