Philadelphia-based Poison Ruïn made waves with their self-titled album during the Covid era. Their unique mix of post-punk, NWOBHM and dungeon synth is one that is immediately striking and gained them a lot of attention.
The grim, yet catchy songs come with a gorgeous sadness with killer hooks that bring the best cold post-punk from the eighties back to life. The typical desolate aesthetics of the band sound like Wipers, The Damned and even a bit like old Motörhead. The anarchist underground sound could be the kickstart for a whole new wave of bands under the NWODAP label: New Wave of Dark Age Punk.
