Rhiannon Giddens

Rhiannon Giddens hails from the Southern state of North Carolina. You may remember her from the Grammy-awarded country and bluegrass band Carolina Chocolate Drops, in which she was not just the vocalist, but also the banjo and fiddle player.

Since 2017, she has been active as a solo artist and in collaboration with other musicians. As with her previous band, her music is rooted in American folk, with a featuring role for her banjo. In 2022, Rhiannon Giddens released the album “They’re Calling Me Home”, an album she made with her partner Francesco Turrisi. The album also received a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album.

Now it’s time for a new release: “You’re the One” is her first solo album in six years and it will be released by NonesuchRecord. The album was produced by Jack Splash (Solang, Alicia Keys, Kendrick Lamar, Valerie June).
