Textures

The band from Etten-Leur is the best The Netherlands has to offer in terms of top-shelf, highly skilled metal. In the past few decades, Textures has been partly responsible for giving progressive math, or djent, or whatever you wish to call it, its current shape. Debut album “Polars” from 2004 caused a tidal wave in the contemporary metal scene. Never before was a Dutch band capable of blending progressive and death metal to a whole in such a unique way. Ruthlessness, technical skills and engaging melodies go hand in hand in this package. Successors “Drawing Circles” and “Silhouettes” were even better, solidifying the status of Textures as one of the absolute pioneers and leading lights of the genre.

After five albums, the band decided to call it quits around a decade ago. Up until now, that is. A new record is on the way, so that makes the opportunity to see them live again even more interesting and urgent. We are very happy to welcome Textures back to Doornroosje for their ninth (!) show!
