The Scratch
They once started off as a silly experiment in a Dublin kitchen, but by now they are a Europe-wide hit. The Scratch share a love for acoustic guitar, metal and traditional Irish music, blending up-beat melodies with the groove and intensity of metal.
After the first EP “Old Songs” from 2018, the Irish band released their debut “Couldn’t Give a Rats” in 2020. Sophomore album “Mind Yourself” had a similar catchy mix of heavy metal and traditional Irish folk metal. It all sounds very refreshing, with some heavy elements thrown into the mix. Most of all though: this is exuberant, happy music. Just check the videos for ‘Another Round’ and ‘Cheeky Bastard’. The Scratch is a quality live band that can turn any stage upside down, which they have demonstrated in Merleyn in 2023. In November, The Scratch will return to Nijmegen. And this time they will play in Doornroosje!
