Tribulation makes adventurous, dynamic and dark metal with influences from black and old school death. The mystical atmosphere and retro vibe, along with the NWOBHM and classic rock influences, turn this Swedish band into a unique one.
Tribulation is unbridled in their creativity and do what they set their mind to. Exquisite guitar riffs are coupled with heavy, catchy rhythms that result in a fantastic overall experience. Their latest album “Where the Gloom Becomes Sound” (2021) is a good example of that. All of it is very tasteful with just the right amount of aggression, which they also reproduce on stage.
Dutch band Laster makes their debut in Doornroosje, which is surprising in itself as the masked band have been making waves for years with their avant-garde take on black metal. The Utrecht band describes their eclectic style as “obscure dance music” and – like their fellow townsmen Grey Aura – effortlessly integrates influences from post rock, jazz rock, shoegaze and art pop into the framework of extreme metal.
