zzzahara’s music explores the deep waters of love, lust and self-discovery in a part of the world where artificiality and authenticity have to co-exist. They hail from the heart of the alternative LA music scene and their music is drenched in raw feelings and the spirit of rebellion. Debut album “Liminal Spaces” from 2022 describes a coming-of-age story in Highland Park, which includes painful memories, late night, live-fast coping mechanisms and the changes that the area has underwent in the same period. Successor “Tender” (2023) marks a period of slowing down, introspection and embracing a softer side of existence.

Earlier this year the latest album “Spiral Your Way Out” came out through the renowned Lex Records. The album introduces another sonic evolution, as well as an emotional one. Zzzahara’s songs have always been packaged in a warm glow that embodies the manner in which they have been written, which was in their bedroom. This glow is still present on “Spiral Your Way Out”, but it also has a more ambitious, bolder approach to it. For the first time, zzzahara decided to collaborate with a number of producers, which include Jorge Elbrecht (Japanese Breakfast, No Joy, Sky Ferreira), Sarah Tudzin (boygenius / Cloud Nothings / The Armed), former Ducktails guitarist Alex Craig (Jelani Aryeh / re6ce) and Halsey tour drummer Franco Reid. They managed to take the intimate writing style of zzzahara’s work to a higher level, something grander yet still clearly their own, with the songs sounding even warmer than ever before.
