Legendary roots reggae band Steel Pulse has been active since 1978 and it’s still alive and kicking. The band consists of true ‘Brummies’ (people from Birmingham) with a warm Rastafari heart. Their debut album “Handsworld Revolution” earned them a spot in the support slot of reggae legend Bob Marley. Records like “State of Emergency” from 1988 and “Vex” from 1994 should be part of any self-respecting roots/reggae fan’s record collection.
In 2004 Steel Pulse came back to the fore thanks to the strong album “African Holocaust”. Nowadays they still work on new music and they are renowned for their terrific live shows an which they play reggae and roots of the highest caliber. Next to new material they are bound to play classics like ‘Prodigal Son’. The band is as inspired as ever as they were at the beginning of their career.
