Islandman
Islandman is a live electro-acoustic trio from Turkey that consists of musician and producer Tolga Böyük and his friends Eralp Güven and Erdem Başer. Their music can be described as a unique mix of electronic structures and dance beats, utilising spacey live guitars backed with shamanic rhythms.
The idea behind Island is to bring together Turkish psychedelia and African roots music on the dance floor. The music sounds like a long trip from the Balkan to Japan and from Tuva to Anatolia. The band’s strength is that they manage to create a perfect balance between electronic structures and acoustic harmonies. They have performed in sold-out venues all across Europe and had a terrific show at Down the Rabbit Hole, too. Tonight, they will do an intimate club show in Merleyn.
