An explosive metal package this Saturday night in January. Revocation, Goatwhore, Alluvial and Creeping Death, all on the same night? It doesn’t get any better this early in the year.
Revocation has been the best kept secret within extreme metal for years. The American band with band leader, guitarist and singer David Davidson plays a mixture of technical death and thrash, using overwhelming tempo, extreme aggression and a fast-paced playing technique that’s close to sleight of hand. This is metal with a capital M. The eighties influences are clearly present, but the music itself has a modern, contemporary character. The band is also extremely productive as the latest album “Netherheaven” is their eighth album already.
Goatwhore is also from the US and is a bit blunter than Revocation. Their so called black ‘n’ roll can bring the roof down. The mix of black, thrash and death sounds like a turbo version of Motörhead, Mayhem and Bolt Thrower.
The new Alluvial album “Sarcoma” is full of heavy progressive, technical death metal. With members of The Faceless and Suffocation and Black Crown Initiate you can’t get expect anything but the best of course. It’s clear why Nuclear Blast signed this American band.
Creeping Death finds their inspiration in the old school sound of death metal. It’s very primitive and authentic, and we love it! Their death rattle vocals are also exactly as they should be. The perfect opener for tonight.
