Sammy Rae & The Friends found their audience during the pandemic through Spotify and TikTok and they now play sold-out venues all across the world. During their short European tour, they will also visit Nijmegen for a show on Doornroosje’s large stage.
The American singer-songwriter Sammy Rae met the members of The Friends during her studies in New York. Her band consists of Kellon Reese (alt saxophone), Max Zooi (tenor saxophone), James Quinn (bassist), Debbie Tjong (keyboard player), Will Leet (guitarist) and C-bass Chiriboga (percussionist). Their music is somewhere in between folk, pop, rock, funk, jazz and (retro) soul and is full of energy, passion and positivity. Next to virtuosity and vocal fireworks, Sammy Rae and her friends know exactly how to move their audience.
