Suffocation

Suffocation is part of the first wave of death metal bands from the US and can be put on par with bands like Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide. The American band has released quite a number of semi-classics so far, but is mostly known for their terrific and overwhelming live performances.

And they’re not the only band on stage tonight! Suffocation is supported by the melodic blackened deathcore of Angelmaker. Just like genre peers Thy Art Is Murder and Black Dahlia Murder, the American band has the skills to combine heavy elements from death and black metal to an explosive whole with ultra brash breakdowns. Mosh pits guaranteed!

Fuming Mouth is the latest adept of old school death metal, using the renowned HM2 pedal to great effect. This results in a sound that’s reminiscent of the bands like Entombed and Dismember. Fuming Mouth is highly recommended to fans of these bands, but also of Gatecreeper and Frozen Soul.

It is up to the Canadians of Carcosa and Mélancolia from Australia to warm up the audience with their slamming deathcore. Mélancolia adds a whiff of black metal for good measure as well to keep things interesting. Metal fans have much to look forward to tonight, that’s for sure!
